Glen Z. Ariola, 69, of Eskridge, Kan., formerly of Jackson, passed away Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born July 19, 1940, in St. Louis, son of Monte Zuma Ariola Jr. He and Marnilla "Vern" Goehman were married Feb. 22, 1971.
Glen was inducted into the U.S. Army on Sept. 9, 1958, and was honorably discharged Sept. 14, 1961.
He attended Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson and was a member of Disabled American Veterans in Cape Girardeau. He was a loving father and grandfather, and enjoyed playing the guitar and piano.
Loving survivors include his wife; a daughter, Kristi (Richard) Roark of Jackson; a son, Steven Myron (Kara) Ariola; and five grandchildren, Crystal Dawn Roark, Danielle Christeen Roark, Lacey Nichole Roark, Myra Zeal Ariola and Sadie Ann Ariola.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Phillip Ariola.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. to service time Friday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Brown officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans in Cape Girardeau.
