SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Gladys Marie Whaley, 76, of Sedgewickville died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at her home.

She was born April 22, 1940, in Patton, Missouri, to Robert Winfield and Dessie Edna Robinson.

She and Donald Whaley were married April 22, 1961, at Sedgewickville.

She was a member of Whitewater Presbyterian Church in Sedgewickville. She graduated from Patton High School and then worked for Henchel Hat Manufacturing over 40 years.

She enjoyed church activities, shopping with her sisters and spending time with her children. Gladys enjoyed being a grandmother, as her grandchildren were the joy of her life.

Survivors include her husband, Donald Whaley of Sedgewickville; sons, Brian (Charee) Whaley and Mark (Laurie) Whaley, both of Sedgewickville; brothers Harold (Mary) Robinson of Jackson, Roy (Sue) Robinson of Perryville, Missouri, and Jerry Lee (Judy) Robinson of Jackson; sisters, Mildred Presnell of Patton, Glenda (Jerry Paul) Barks of Jackson and Noranna (Robert) Maynard of Patton; and five grandchildren, Chris Whaley, Kyle Whaley, Cheyenne Whaley, Lydia Whaley and Harley Whaley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rick Robinson.

Visitation was held last night and continues this morning from 10 a.m. to the service time at the Whitewater Presbyterian Church in Sedgewickville.

Funeral service will be at noon today at the church, with Charles Mangels and the Rev. Robert "Bob" Eisenhauer officiating.

Burial will be at Whitewater Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Whitewater Presbyterian Church or to Crown Hospice.
