GLADYS MCKINNEY

KARNAK, Ill. -- Funeral for Gladys McKinney of Waukegan, formerly of Karnak, was held Friday at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. J.R. Woods officiated. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery at Cypress.

McKinney, 81, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999, at her home.

She was born March 10, 1918, in Ullin, daughter of James "Jack" and Effie Eddleman Hayes. She married Herman McKinney, who died in 1995.

McKinney had been a clothing supervisor for hospitals in the Waukegan area.

Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Hofmann of Beach Park; two sons, Gerald McKinney of Waukegan, John McKinney of Beach Park; two sisters, Opal Conley of Lake Ozark, Mo., Ruth Duenne of Charleston, Mo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
