GLADYS LENCE

COBDEN, Ill. -- Funeral service for Gladys B. Lence of Cobden will be held at 1 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden. The Rev. Clifford Heil will officiate, with burial in Cobden Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home until service time.

Lence, 93, died Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at her home.

She was born Dec. 24, 1903, in Anna, daughter of Andy Franklin and Belle Emmalyn Hall Hill. She and Ernest E. Lence were married June 20, 1925. He died June 29, 1985.

Lence retired from Anna State Hospital. She was a member of Union Congregational Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Francis of Glen Carbon, Dorothy Mainer of Godfrey; a son, Jim Lence of Cobden; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.
