SIKESTON -- Gladys M. Kindred, 79, of the Sikeston Health Care Center died Friday, Aug. 6, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 2, 1913 in Dexter, daughter of Ellis K. and Wrista L. Fulkerson Alcorn.
She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston. She and her husband formerly owned Little Big Dollar Store in Kennett and Kindred's Grocery & Market in Sikeston.
She previously worked for JCPenney and the Brown Shoe Co.
On July 4, 1931 in Morley, she married Eugene V. Kindred. He survives of Sikeston.
Also surviving are one son, Alan Kindred of Orange, Calif.; one daughter, Joy O'Neal of Bridgeton; four brothers, Dale Alcorn, Darrell Alcorn and Delmar Alcorn, all of Sikeston, and C.D. Alcorn of Morley; two sisters, Ruth Chaney and Blanche McDonald, both of Sikeston; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
One son preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Nunnelee chapel, with the Rev. Jim Guffie, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston, officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
