Gladys E. Jaco, 100, passed away Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Jackson Manor Nursing Home in Jackson.
She was born Jan. 18, 1910, at Burfordville, daughter of William and Mattie Francis Criddle Estes. She and Pearl Jaco were married July 5, 1930, in Perryville, Mo. He passed away July 3, 1996.
Gladys lived in Cape Girardeau County most of her married life before moving to Summersville, Mo., and then to the nursing home in 2000.
She had worked at the former International Shoe Factory in Jackson for a number of years. In 1993, at the age of 82, Gladys was baptized at the Praise Assembly Church in Summersville.
Loving survivors include a son, Claude (Betty) Jaco of Jackson; a daughter Lillie Jackson of Summersville; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Evalee Jaco in 1947; one grandson; one great-great grandson; two brothers; and five sisters.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until service time Monday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with her grandson, the Rev. Gary Jackson officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
