Gladys Crites

Gladys H. Crites, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2001, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 7, 1917, at Benton, Mo., daughter of Oscar Louis and Chlola May McCullough Ervin.

She and Loy E. Crites were married Jan. 20, 1938, at Cape Girardeau. He died March 20, 1976.

She worked for over 10 years as a cook for the Division of Youth Services in Cape Girardeau. She also worked at Davis Electric and Lowenbaum Manufacturing.

Survivors include a son, Edward "Bud" Crites of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a grandson.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lee Roy Quinn officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
