GIDEON -- Gladys Carter, 91, of Gideon died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Gideon Care Center in Gideon.
She was born Oct. 8, 1907, in Grenada, Miss., daughter of William Anthony and Alice Tindell Walton. She and James Oscar Carter were married May 15, 1925, in Big Creek, Miss. He died March 26, 1976.
Carter was a member of First Baptist Church in Clarkton and was a former member of RSVP.
Survivors include a daughter, Syble Maddox of Gideon; a foster son, Charles Walton of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and seven brothers.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Bradshaw Funeral Home in Gideon.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Dan Wright and Jack Leathers officiating. Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
