PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Gladys M. Bohnert, 88, of Perryville died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Perry County Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Perry County, daughter of James F. and Emma L. Nations DuVall. She and Clarence J. Mattingly were married Sept. 12, 1939. He died Oct. 16, 1973. She and Sylvester Bohnert were married May 30, 1995...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Gladys M. Bohnert, 88, of Perryville died Friday, July 6, 2001, at the Perry County Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 6, 1912, in Perry County, daughter of James F. and Emma L. Nations DuVall. She and Clarence J. Mattingly were married Sept. 12, 1939. He died Oct. 16, 1973. She and Sylvester Bohnert were married May 30, 1995.

She taught elementary school in the area for 32 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Daughters of Isabella, Ladies of Charity, Alpha Delta Kappa, the retired teachers and the Ministry of Praise and volunteered at Perry County Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, David P. Mattingly of Union, Mo., and Darwin J. Mattingly of Brewer, Mo.; a daughter, Ruth Ann Mueller of Villa Ridge, Mo.; a stepson, Michael J. Bohnert of Perryville; a stepdaughter, Rose Mary Ruesler of Jackson, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Monday at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. Parish wake service with the Daughters of Isabella will be at 7 p.m. Monday.

Visitation also will from 6:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Kevin P. Fausz officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
