SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gladys R. Adamson, 86, of Humboldt, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at her home. She was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of Amos and Allice Parlee Davault Rhodes. She and Elba Adamson were married April 10, 1937, in Bloomfield, Mo., and he died Jan. 5, 1979...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gladys R. Adamson, 86, of Humboldt, Tenn., formerly of Sikeston, died Monday, April 12, 2004, at her home.

She was born Jan. 14, 1918, in Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of Amos and Allice Parlee Davault Rhodes. She and Elba Adamson were married April 10, 1937, in Bloomfield, Mo., and he died Jan. 5, 1979.

She worked for Brown Shoe Factory in Charleston, Mo., for 10 years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Charles Adamson of Humboldt and Larry Adamson of Stuttgart, Ark.; two daughters, Willie Kuhlmann of Humboldt and Donna Byrd of Benton, Ky.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Murray Lane Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
