DEXTER -- Funeral service for Gladys Abernathy of Dexter will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance. The Rev. Eldo Eaker will officiate, with burial in Morgan Memorial Park.

Abernathy, 85, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 21, 1907, at Leora, daughter of Rolla and Artie Ridge Hobbs. She and Wilbert Abernathy were married Dec. 27, 1931, at Marble Hill. He died Sept. 20, 1985.

Abernathy was a member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 509 at Zalma.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
