GILBERT N. LEIGH

PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert N. Leigh, 86, of Perryville, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, at Perry Oaks Health Care. He was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Fredericktown, son of Joseph W. and Henrietta Barber Leigh. PERRYVILLE -- Gilbert N. Leigh, 86, of Perryville, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 1995, at Perry Oaks Health Care.

He was born Jan. 28, 1909, in Fredericktown, son of Joseph W. and Henrietta Barber Leigh. He and Vallie Smith were married May 10, 1935.

Leigh had been a trimmer at International Shoe Co. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold North of Kingston, R.I., Charles Leigh of Chesterfield; two daughters, Norma Vermoilen of St. Peters, Vera Copeland of St. James; two brothers, Glen Leigh of Perryville, Raymond Leigh of Opelika, Ala.; two sisters, Esther Leigh and Alta Price of Warrenton; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 5-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 6:30-9 a.m.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Edward Hankinson officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
