ST. MARYS -- Gilbert L. Thompson, 83, of St. Mary died Saturday, May 18, 1996, at the Jackie Lowes Boarding Home.
He was born May 27, 1912, in Perry County, to Ferdinand and Angela Mercier Thompson. On Dec. 10, 1932, he married Dolphine Brown.
Thompson was a retired farmer and past deacon of Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Ina Mae Harrison of Sun City, Ariz., and Joyce Giesler of Ste. Genevieve; four sons, Norval and Larry Thompson, both of Minnith, Lendell Thompson of St. Mary, and Floyd Thompson of Ste. Genevieve; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 3-9 p.m. today and 6:30-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young & Sons Chapel in Perryville.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church in St. Mary, with the Rev. Irvin Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery.
