ANNA, Ill. -- Gilbert L. Nimmo, 75, of Anna died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 1996, at the VA Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born Aug. 3, 1920, in Anna to Fred and Murrel Hinkle Nimmo.
He married Martha Hileman on Aug. 9, 1941. She preceded him in death on Feb. 28, 1994. He them married Lucille Stewart Shelton on June 19. She survives.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Anna, a charter member of Anna Moose Lodge, a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and retired after 42 years at Bunny Bread Bakery.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Ralph Nimmo of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Jane Nimmo of Las Vegas and Joyce Plott of Anna; two sisters, Anita Nimmo of Chicago and Doris Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; two stepsons, Bill Dillow and Jack Dillow, both of Anna; three stepdaughters, Shirley Gleason of Pompano Beach, Fla., Sonya Fazio and Tonita Ruden, both of Dallas; and several step-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna, with the Rev. George Besch officiating. Burial will be in the Anna Cemetery.
Friends may call Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
