ADVANCE -- Gilbert G. Knop, 91, of Advance died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Jan. 11, 1907, at Swinton, son of William and Mattie Shumate Knop. He and Agnes L. Proffer were married Sept. 16, 1929. She died Aug. 15, 1991...

ADVANCE -- Gilbert G. Knop, 91, of Advance died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 11, 1907, at Swinton, son of William and Mattie Shumate Knop. He and Agnes L. Proffer were married Sept. 16, 1929. She died Aug. 15, 1991.

Knop was a retired machinist, and member of Calvary Cornerstone Church.

Survivors include cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with John Tolbert officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
