SCOPUS, Mo.-- Gilbert "Gabby" Hanners, 76, of Scopus died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.

He was born Feb. 21, 1928, at Scopus, son of Adam and Victory Wilfong Hanners.

Hanners worked many years for Bridges Family Store and Farms. He attended Scopus United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his best friends, L.L. Bridges Jr. and Vernadean Bollinger of Scopus.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo., from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jack Leslie, Jim Hartman and Micah Bristow officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery near Scopus.
