NEW HAMBURG -- Funeral Mass for Gilbert William Dirnberger of Ellisville, formerly of New Hamburg, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday at Holy Infant Catholic Church in Ballwin. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Friends may call at Schrader Funeral Home in Ballwin from 3-9 p.m. Sunday.

Dirnberger, 75, died Thursday, Dec. 19, 1996, in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 3, 1921, at Oran, son of Joseph and Mamie Scherer Dirnberger. He married the former Marie Thoenen.
Dirnberger had been a pipefitter with Climate Engineering. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a member of Church of the Holy Infant, Pipefitters Local 562, and Fenton Memorial American Legion Post 400.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy Dirnberger of St. Louis; a daughter, Pamela Huber of Ballwin; two brothers, Vincent and Earl Dirnberger of New Hamburg; a sister, Georgia Dannenmueller of Scott City; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
