Gertrude M. Miget, 93, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000, at Johnson County Nursing Center in Olathe, Kan.
She was born May 7, 1907, at Kirksville, Mo., daughter of Alfred and Mary McCartney Lawrence.
She and Harry Miget were married in November 1933 in Cape Girardeau. He died July 16, 1978. She was of the Catholic faith and attended old St. Vincent and the new St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cape Girardeau. She also attended the senior center and had lived in Cape Girardeau almost all her life.
Survivors include a son, James Miget of Livingston, Texas, and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Miget; three brothers, James Lawrence, Carl Lawrence and George Lawrence; and a sister, Loretta Lawrence.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
