GERTRUDE MARY SMITH

ST. MARYS Gertrude Mary Smith, 91, of St. Marys died Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at the Perry County Memorial Hopsital in Perryville.

She was born Oct. 30, 1901, at Perry County, the daughter of Van and Judie Hudson Gibler. On Nov. 5, 1920, she married Oliver Smith, who preceded her in death Oct. 16, 1964.

She was a homemaker and a member of the the United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary in Perryville.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth Smith of St. Marys; three daughters, Verna J. Huber of Bridgeton, Mrs. Perry Jean Cissell of Perryville and Virginia Zoellner of St. Peters; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and six great, great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and a grandson.

Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at Young and Sons Chapel in Perryville and from 6:30-8 a.m. Thursday. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Perryville. The Rev. Ed Hankinson will officiate, and burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville.
