Gerlene I. Harris, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born July 4, 1920, in Laflin, Mo., daughter of Floyd B. and Alma J. Mayfield Crites. She and Leemon B. Abbott were married July 5, 1937. He preceded her in death. She and Riley C. Harris were married Oct. 26, 1946, in Osceola, Ark. He died in 1986.
Harris was a pipefitter and welder in San Francisco, Calif., in the 1940s. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Boyd Abbott of Old Appleton, Mo.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Zack Strong officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
