Geraldine Elizabeth Harmon, 79, 539 S. Spring, died Wednesday, June 23, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1913, in Memphis, Tenn., daughter of Daniel B. and Laura Lee Norton Smith. She and Chester Harmon were married Feb. 21, 1935, in Blytheville, Ark.
Harmon graduated from Arkansas State University in 1947. She taught first grade 39 years in Southern Illinois, Southeast Missouri and in Arkansas.
She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star, Missouri State Teachers Association, Illinois State Teachers Association, and National Education Association.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Laura Riehn of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
