GERALDINE DAVIS

EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Geraldine Davis of Collinsville, Ill., formerly of East Prairie, will be held at 11 a.m. today at First Christian Church here. The Rev. Martin Lucas will officiate, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery near Charleston.

Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.

Davis, 85, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994, at Collinsville Care Center.

She was born Dec. 21, 1908, in Dorena, daughter of Calvin Millard and Stella E. Byassee Hall. She and Joseph R. Davis Jr. were married Dec. 5, 1936. He died Sept. 12, 1952.

Davis was an elementary teacher here, and supervisor at Prairie Manufacturing Co. She was a member of First Christian Church, and active in Retired Senior Volunteer Program here. She moved to Collinsville four years ago from East Prairie.

Survivors include a nephew, William J. Bush Sr. of Collinsville; a great-niece and great-nephew.

She was preceded in death by two sisters.
