JACKSON -- Funeral service for Geraldine Colman of Munster, Ind., formerly of Jackson, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at New McKendree United Methodist Church. The Rev. Scott Lohse will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Colman, 95, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 1995, in Munster.

She was born May 1, 1900, in Bonham, Texas, daughter of Dr. G.A. and Hattie Hamilton Harper. She and William H. Colman were married June 17, 1925. He died Oct. 14, 1974.

Colman received a bachelor of science degree in education from the University of Missouri in 1922. She taught home economics two years in Shreveport, La.

The Colmans moved to Jackson in 1942 from Fulton. She was a member of New McKendree Church and its Naomi Circle, PEO Chapter DJ, and Thursday Literary Club.

Survivors include a son, William H. Colman Jr. of Jackson; two daughters, Harriett Shorb of Munster, Gerre Dudley of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
