Geraldine B. "Babe" Koch died Thursday, Nov. 14, 1991, at her home in Cape Girardeau. She was 79.
She was born April 3, 1912, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Henry and Pauline Sailer Koch.
She was a neopsychiatric nurse in St. Louis hospitals and was educated at the St. Louis School of Nursing. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the army as a second lieutenant.
Among her military decorations were: the A-P Theater Ribbon, Bronze Battle Star, Overseas Service Bar, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Victory Medal.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838.
She is preceded in death by seven brothers and seven sisters. She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Grant officiating. Internment will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, with the VFW Post conducting military rites.
Visitation at the funeral chapel will be today from 5-7 p.m.
