POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Gerald Joe Scholl, 76, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, May 7, 2007, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Scholl was born Jan. 19, 1931, in Wittenberg, Mo., son of Rudolph and Martha Scholl. He and Jewel Brinley were married Feb. 28, 1948, in Osceola, Ark.
He moved to Poplar Bluff in 1963 from Cape Girardeau. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and was a riverboat chief engineer for B&H Towing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joe Alan Scholl of Poplar Bluff; a daughter, Martha Richmond of Poplar Bluff; a brother, Jim Scholl of Jackson; three grandsons; and three greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and two brothers.
The funeral service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Marty Reed officiating. Burial followed at City Cemetery.
