PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Gerald F. Musgraves, 78, of Port Charlotte and formerly of Flint, Mich., passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, in Port Charlotte.

Gerald was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Advance, Mo. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served as a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne unit. After his military service, he worked for General Motors as a machine repairman in Flint until his retirement. Gerald was a kind, loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all the people he touched.

Gerald is survived by his wife of five years, Barbara; two daughters, Sandra and husband Michael Michaud of Port Charlotte and Kimberly Hayes of Delray Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, Kristin and husband Adam Henry of Port Charlotte, Rebecca Warram, also of Port Charlotte, Andrew Michael Hayes Jr. and wife Nicole of Tampa, Fla., and Theresa Hayes, also of Tampa; a brother and sister-in-law, Derald and Mary Gearing; and three cousins, Gary and Linda Fulmer, Rosati and Jerry Johnson and Diana and Dave Hoyt, all of Florida. Gerald was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, and parents Ervin and Charity Rable Musgraves.

A viewing for Gerald will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Roberson Funeral Homes, Port Charlotte Chapel, at 2151 Tamiami Trail.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel.

Friends may visit www.robersonfh.com to sign a memory book and extend condolences to the family.
