GERALD L. VANGENNIP

ADVANCE -- Gerald Lee VanGennip, 54, of Advance, died Tuesday, May 2, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 5, 1941, son of Robert J. and Mildred E. Null VanGennip. He and Phillis Ann Capps were married Aug. 18, 1973.

VanGennip was employed by Dockins Heating and Plumbing. He was a member of Ladd Chapel General Baptist Church and Zalma Masonic Lodge. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Cathy Waters of Albuquerque, N.M.; three stepsons, David Gifford of Advance, Ronnie Gifford of Dixon, Ill., Robbie Gifford of Chaffee; his parents of Advance; a brother, James VanGennip of Jackson, and three stepgrandchildren.

Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jessie Dugger and Odis Little officiating. Burial will be in Dongola Cemetery near Advance.
