Gerald Leroy Langston, 58, of 2533 Marsha Kay in Cape Girardeau, died suddenly Friday, Feb. 28, 1992 at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 6, 1934 in Cape Girardeau, the son of Roscoe and Aline Smith Langston. On Feb. 15, 1958 he married the former Wilma Mavers at Gordonville, and she survives.
He was a lifelong resident of Cape Girardeau and at the time of his death was employed by ASA Contractors. He was employed by Cape Special Road District from 1952-65, and from 1965-87 operated Langston Brothers Asphalt Co. with his brother, Raymond.
Langston was a graduate of Central High School, where he was on the football team; served four years in the Missouri National Guard; and was a member of the Methodist church.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Teresa Langston of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters, Glonda Johnson of Cape Girardeau, and Gertrude Jenkins of Benton.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel today from 4-8 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Ford and Sons, with Rev. J.C. Mattox officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park.
