Gerald Kaempfer, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Lutheran Home.
He was born April 9, 1929, in Cape Girardeau, to William F. and Millie Davis Kaempfer. He and Lillian Swinford were married in 1966 in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death May 5, 2013.
Gerald worked nearly 30 years at Leming Lumber Co. and also worked at Federal Materials in Cape Girardeau. He was a member of Word of Faith Fellowship. He was an ordained minister and played guitar at area hospitals and nursing homes for many years.
Survivors include a sister, Mary Lou Reynolds of Jonesboro, Ill.; 10 nephews and nieces; four stepchildren; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and three brothers, Fred Kaempfer, Lloyd Henson and Harry Kaempfer.
Friends may call from noon until time of service Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Henson officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.
