Gerald Jones

Gerald Jones, 61, of Jackson, Missouri, died Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 6, 1955, in Effingham, Illinois, to Maurice and Genevia Sowers Jones. He married Susan Dalton on Oct. 18, 1986.

Gerald was a hard worker, devoting his life to helping his family and others.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; three sons; four daughters; 17 grandchildren; his father; two sisters; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother.

The family of Gerald Jones will host a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Wheeler Christian Church in Wheeler, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Jones family to offset final expenses.
