He was born April 2, 1968, in Buffalo, New York, to Gerald Sr. and Sandra Alderman Farnham.

Jerry graduated from Starpoint High School in Pendleton, New York, in 1986, where he wrestled, ran cross country and was student council vice president. He then attended Ohio Diesel Tech School and upon graduation began working at Midland Asphalt in 1988. He served as town councilman of Pendleton.

He and Brigid Tuyn Farnham were married July 7, 2006, in Buffalo.

Jerry was an extremely talented man, and most would agree, there was not much Jerry could not fix. Jerry loved to golf, travel, camp and spend time with his family. He was a loyal and loving father to his two young boys. He was the assistant Scoutmaster of Lucas' Boy Scout Troop and was Samuel's No. 1 sports fan on the sidelines.
