Gerald "Jerry" Kenneth Farnham Jr., 55, of Cape Girardeau died peacefully Saturday, Sept. 9, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born April 2, 1968, in Buffalo, New York, to Gerald Sr. and Sandra Alderman Farnham.
Jerry graduated from Starpoint High School in Pendleton, New York, in 1986, where he wrestled, ran cross country and was student council vice president. He then attended Ohio Diesel Tech School and upon graduation began working at Midland Asphalt in 1988. He served as town councilman of Pendleton.
He and Brigid Tuyn Farnham were married July 7, 2006, in Buffalo.
Brigid and Jerry relocated to Cape Girardeau in 2007, where he began to work for Delta Companies as plants and equipment manager. In 2020, he was promoted to director of equipment with Colas USA. Jerry was a dedicated employee to the industry for 35 years.
Jerry was an extremely talented man, and most would agree, there was not much Jerry could not fix. Jerry loved to golf, travel, camp and spend time with his family. He was a loyal and loving father to his two young boys. He was the assistant Scoutmaster of Lucas' Boy Scout Troop and was Samuel's No. 1 sports fan on the sidelines.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife, Brigid Farnham of Cape Girardeau; father, Gerald (Elaine) Farnham Sr. of Lockport, New York; two sons, Lucas Farnham, 12, and Samuel Farnham, 10, both of Cape Girardeau; four brothers, Dan (Erin) Farnham of Oakfield, New York, Bradley Farnham of Jefferson, Indiana, and Robert (Heather) Farnham and Joseph (Jodi) Depew, both of Lockport; two sisters, Tennille (Jeff) Trenchard of North Tonawanda, New York, and Kelly Williams of Shreveport, Louisiana; and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Farnham.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
