MARBLE HILL -- Georgia Sitzes, 78, of Marble Hill, died Wednesday, Jan. 18, 1995, in Jackson.
She was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Oran, daughter of George and Rilda Banks Finley. She and Robert Carl Pickens were married Oct. 7, 1936. He died March 18, 1947. She and John E. Sitzes were married Aug. 13, 1949. He died May 28, 1983.
Sitzes was owner of Georgia's Beauty Shop and served on the Lutesville Town Board many years. She was a member of Marble Hill First United Methodist Church, and charter member of VFW Auxiliary Post 5900.
Survivors include a son, Don Pickens of Fenton; a daughter, Jane Sides of Jackson; two brothers, Bud Guthrie of Marble Hill, Calvin Guthrie of Flint, Mich.; a sister, Mildred Oliver of Marble Hill; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son and brother.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Woods officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery.
