GEORGIA MARIE JONES

BEL NOR -- Funeral service for Georgia Marie Jones, 83 years old, of Bel Nor, was held Tuesday at the Bryson Funeral Home in Pilot Knob, with the Rev. Robert Mordt officiating. Burial followed in the Arcadia Valley Memorial Cemetery.

She died Sunday, Dec. 30, 1990, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born in Longtown Feb. 22, 1907, daughter of Benjamin and Sarah Clifton Swan.

She had lived in the Bel Nor community for many years.

She was married to Ted Jones on June 24, 1936. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Ron Jones, Bel Nor, and Don Jones, Bridgeton; one daughter, Sue Michie, Hayti; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was a school teacher for many years in the Ironton and Hazelwood elementary school districts and taught for 40 years at Mine La Motte, Piedmont, Des Arc, Annapolis and Leadwood school districts.

She was a member of Normandy United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star Chapter 349 in Ironton, serving as worthy matron.
