CANALOU -- Georgia Caroline Vickers, 90, of Canalou, formerly of Matthews, died Friday, Jan. 4, 1991, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews. She was born Sept. 14, 1899, in Bolivar, Tenn., to William and Docia Baker. She married Thomas Vickers on July 11, 1940 at Benton. He proceeded her in death on Nov. 3, 1971...

CANALOU -- Georgia Caroline Vickers, 90, of Canalou, formerly of Matthews, died Friday, Jan. 4, 1991, at Sells Rest Home in Matthews.

She was born Sept. 14, 1899, in Bolivar, Tenn., to William and Docia Baker.

She married Thomas Vickers on July 11, 1940 at Benton. He proceeded her in death on Nov. 3, 1971.

She is survived by four sons, Charles Abernathy of Donophan, Marcus Abernathy of Benton, R.L. Abernathy of Canalou, and Lee Abernathy of Paris, Ill.; one brother, R.H. Baker of Marked Tree, Ark.; one sister, Altie Julen of Corinth, Miss.; 26 grandchildren 62 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by one son, one daughter and one granddaughter.

Friends may call today at the Amick Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston until time of service at 2 p.m. The Rev. Mike Cartwright, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Canalou, will officiate.

Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
