George Welsh Jr.

George Welsh Jr., 69, of Goliad, Texas, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1934, in Pottstown, Pa., son of George and Mildred Ormsby Welsh Sr. He and Judith Ann Cotner, formerly of Cape Girardeau, were married June 4, 1984, in Poteau, Okla.

Mr. Welsh was formerly of St. Louis. He was employed by Akal Securities with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, David Welsh of St. Louis, Tracy Welsh of Cape Girardeau; his father of Stuart, Fla.; two sisters, Gladys Anderson of Pennsylvania, Claudette Ross of Maryland; two brothers, John and Jonathan Evenstad of St. Louis County.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Ormsby Evenstad.

A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, July 30, at High Hill Cemetery at Neelys Landing.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
