WYATT -- Funeral service for George Allen Wallace of Metropolis, Ill., will be held at 3 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in Charleston. The Rev. Bill Meeks will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.

Wallace, 36, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997, in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born Jan. 16, 1961, in Sikeston, son of N.G. and Annie Hutson Wallace.

Wallace was a pilot with Players Riverboat Casino. He lived at Wyatt most of his life, moving to Metropolis about a year ago. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a son, George Wallace Jr.; a daughter, Rachel Wallace, both of Wyatt; a brother, William Wallace of Matthews; a sister, Theresa Caldwell of Charleston; and a friend, Lisa English of Metropolis.
