CHAFFEE -- Funeral service for George W. Sanders of Chaffee will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts will officiate, with burial in Oakdale Cemetery at Commerce.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home here after 4 p.m. today.
Sanders, 67, died Tuesday, April 5, 1994, at his home.
He was born Oct. 18, 1926, at Commerce, son of Richmond and Alice Loftin Sanders. He and Frances Jackson were married Dec. 12, 1948.
Sanders retired Nov. 1, 1988, as a conductor with Burlington-Northern Railway Co. He was a member of First Baptist Church and United Trainmen Union. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wade Sanders of Chaffee, Doug Sanders of Ft. Worth, Texas; two daughters, Gloria Ransom of Fenton, Sharon Coleman of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Reece and Garnett Sanders of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Grace Heise of Jackson, Irene Hente, Alice Julian and Jane Thompson of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
