George "Ray" Grosswiler, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 21, 1996, at The Lutheran Home. He was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Webster Groves, to Harry and Elizabeth Wagner Grosswiler. George "Ray" Grosswiler, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, March 21, 1996, at The Lutheran Home.

He was born Aug. 9, 1915, in Webster Groves, to Harry and Elizabeth Wagner Grosswiler. He married Frieda Petzoldt on Sept. 11, 1940.

Grosswiler was a U.S. Army veteran and served more than 30 years as branch manager of International Harvest Co., retiring in 1972.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Paul Grosswiler of Portland, Maine; two daughters, Mary Aubuchon of Hazelwood and Joyce Grosswiler of Copenhagen, Denmark; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Schaffner officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's United Church of Christ.
