ANNA, Ill. -- George Morber, 96, of Anna died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at City Care Center.
He was born May 12, 1910, son of Albert and Minnie Mezo Morber. He and Bernice Campbell were married June 30, 1981.
Morber was an operating engineer drilling dynamite many years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ullin, Ill., and a past governor and lifetime member of Anna Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marie Newberry of Dongola, Ill., Neva Cook of Milan, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Ruth Stuber of Tennessee, Francis Cook of Anna; a sister, Mary Easton of Murphysboro, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, and three grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Anna.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clint Nale officiating. Burial will be in Mount Joy Cemetery at Murphysboro.
