SIKESTON -- Funeral service for George E. McDonnold of Sikeston, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bob Burnes will officiate, with burial in Memorial park Cemetery.
McDonnold, 83, died Saturday, Nov. 23, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 17, 1913, in Haggerman, Texas, son of Charlie Porter and Annie Mae Thompson McDonnold. He and Florence E. Lewis were married Oct. 24, 1936, in Dardanelle, Ark. She died Feb. 8, 1988.
McDonnold had worked for Crooms Brothers Farms in Canalou, and retired from Ame-Tec Corp. in Los Angeles, Calif. He was a member of House of Prayer Church in Grant City, and UAW Local in Los Angeles.
Survivors include four sons, Troy McDonnold of Sikeston, William McDonnold of Morehouse, David McDonnold of Laughlin, Nev., Kent McDonnold of Whittier, Calif.; a daughter, Corra Edwards of Sikeston; a brother, Waymond McDonnold of Van Buren, Ark.; a sister. Vera Blalack of Visalia, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, daughter, two brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
