SIKESTON -- George M. Robinson, 77, of the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau died Friday, May 19, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 10, 1922 in New Madrid County, son of Luke and Myrtle Neely Robinson.
He and Ruth Chambers were married Sept. 18, 1940, at Portageville. She preceded him in death April 20, 1994.
He was an electrical distribution superintendent with the Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities.
He served in Army during World War II. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Sikeston Masonic Lodge #310 AF&AM, where he was a 50-year member and Past Worshipful Master.
He is survived by a son ,Gary Robinson of Draffenville, Ky.; two daughters, Dianne Bone of Charleston and Debbie Sparks of Sikeston; two brothers, Mickey Robinson of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Wayne Robinson of Sappington; and four grandchildren .
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5- 8 p.m. today. Masonic rites will be held by the Sikeston Masonic Lodge #310 AF&AM at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral will be held Monday at 10 a.m., at Blanchard Funeral Chapel at Sikeston, with Bro. Bob Medlock of Sikeston officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
