KELSO, Mo. -- George Paul Leible, 69, of Kelso died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 30, 1939, at Kelso, son of Theodore George and Alma Rose Gosche Leible. He and Georgia Ann Schaefer were married Oct. 3, 1964, at Scott City.

Leible was a farmer and worked as a carpenter for Local 1770. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso and Knights of Columbus Council 6420 in Scott City. He was an avid deer hunter, fisherman and sports fan. He coached baseball and softball teams more than 13 years.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Leible; three sons, Danny (Dwana) Leible of Kelso, Tom (Teresa) Leible of Jackson and Mike (Beth) Leible of Barnhart, Mo.; a daughter, Cheri (Dennis) Trickey of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Almaretta Schaefer of Scott City, Theodora Taylor of Stillwater, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Natalie, Mollie, Andrew, Olivia, Owen and Jonah Leible and Justin Trickey.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Augustine Church. There will be a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. followed by a Knights of Columbus prayer service at 7:15 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Rev. Oliver Clavin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.
