George "Butch" Paul Kuhlmann, 76, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, May 7, 2020, at his home.

He was born June 1, 1943, in St. Louis to George and Marie Batch Kuhlmann. He and Judy Conway were married Nov. 25, 1965, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in St. Louis.

Butch graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School in St. Louis.

He worked as a management consultant with manufacturing concerns for many years.

He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 6405 in Jackson.

Butch spent his retirement years working at Schnucks in Cape, a job that he really loved.

He loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Blues hockey and NASCAR. He enjoyed spending time with his many dogs over the years and took great joy in being with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Kuhlmann of Cape Girardeau; son, Paul Kuhlmann of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Mickie (Chris) Jones of Brentwood, Missouri, and Monica (Brian) Nugent and Molly (Chris) Schaefer of Jackson; grandchildren, Parker and Taylor Nugent and Grant Schaefer; brother, Doug (Terry) Kuhlmann of Maine; brothers-in-law, Mick (Jan) Conway of St. Louis and Tim (Diane) Conway of Chesterfield, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Georgiana Kuhlmann Braff, Corey and Claire Conway and Timothy and Nick Conway; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Immaculate Conception Scholarship Fund, 208 S. Hope St., Suite 102, Jackson, MO 63755; Knights of Columbus Council 6405 Scholarship Fund, 3305 N. High St., Jackson, MO 63755; or Notre Dame Regional High School Scholarship Fund, 265 Notre Dame Drive, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
