George Irwin Clutts, 77, 222 S. West End Boulevard, died Wednesday, March 8, 1995, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Jan. 15, 1918, in Granite City, Ill., son of Francis Pete and Nettie Eaves Clutts. He and Fran Lincoln were married May 20, 1961, in Houston, Texas.
Clutts had been a farmer, prison guard, policeman in Granite City, and retired as a security guard with SEMO Security.
He was a member of Cape Girardeau Church of God, Disabled American Veterans, Craftsman Local 282, and lifetime member of VFW Post 3838. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robin Clutts of Granite City, Robert Clutts of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Dianna Bohnert of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Raymond Clutts of Virginia, Eugene Clutts of Tucson, Ariz., Robert Clutts of Texas; a sister, Ethel of Illinois, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jonathan Vorce and Don Henson officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
