OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- George Edward Poole, 83, of Olive Branch died Sunday Dec. 8, 1996, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
He was born July 2, 1913, in Tamms, son of Frank and Maude Crite Poole. He married Lorraine Mansfield on April 15, 1939. She survives.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and had retired from E.L. Bruce Flooring Co. in Cairo.
He is survived by two sons, Dennis Poole of Stockton, Calif., and Dale Poole of Olive Branch; a daughter, Sandy Bedwell of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms. The funeral will follow at 11 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Thebes, with the Rev. Carl D. Fisher officiating. Burial will follow the service.
