George E. Farrow Jr., 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Cape Girardeau County, to George and Emma R. George E. Farrow Jr., 79, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Cape Girardeau County, to George and Emma R. Perry Farrow Sr.

George worked as an engineer on a riverboat for 30 years. He was a member of Iona Baptist Church. George enjoyed wood working and being with his friends.

Survivors include his brothers, Russell and Elmer Farrow of Cape Girardeau; sisters June Mahy of St. Clair, Mo., and Betty Ward of Murphysboro, Ill.; as well as several nieces, nephews, great- and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to time of service Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be at noon at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will follow at McLain Chapel Cemetery in Oriole.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
