Military graveside service for George L. "Vinnie" Cox of Cheyenne, Wyo., was held Dec. 23 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyo.
Cox, 76, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 1996, at Mountain Towers Healthcare in Cheyenne.
He was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Cape Girardeau, son of John M. and Adell Harris Cox.
Cox was a retired truck driver, and was employed by Cauble and Field in the 1950s. He had lived in Cheyenne since 1994. He served with the U.S. Army in South Africa and Italy during World War II.
Survivors include two brothers, Marshall Cox of Casper, Wyo.; John Cox of Lakewood, Colo.; three sisters, Margaret Cobb of Cape Girardeau, Patricia Blankenship of Westville, Ill., and Frances Gilbertson of Markesan, Wis.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
