George Martin Bohannan, 82, of Scott City died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 18, 1925, at Pine Bluff, Ark., son of Hillie Paul and Sophronie Ballard Bohannan. He married Imogene Pearl Swinney Aug. 26, 1951, at Illmo. She died Oct. 5, 1988.
George was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a conductor 42 years with Cotton Belt Railroad. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Survivors include a son, Bill Bohannan of Temple, Texas; two daughters, Becky Bohannan and Cindy Bohannan of Scott City; a brother, Paul Bohannan of Merkel, Texas; four granddaughters, Becky Walden, Brandy Crumpton, Ashley and Samantha Bohannan; and two great-grandchildren, Cohl and Madison.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Bohannan; a niece, Linda Gasaway; two brothers; and three sisters.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday, with Jerry Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
