CAIRO, Ill. -- Geneva B. Holland, 86, of Cairo died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Daystar Care Center. She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Cairo, daughter of Carl and Augusta Hailey Blackburn. She married John G. Holland, who died in 2004. Holland was a graduate of Cairo High School. She had been a bookkeeper with Edison Electric Co. She was a member of First Christian Church, Cairo Junior Women's Club and Cairo Historical Association...

CAIRO, Ill. -- Geneva B. Holland, 86, of Cairo died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2007, at Daystar Care Center.

She was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Cairo, daughter of Carl and Augusta Hailey Blackburn. She married John G. Holland, who died in 2004.

Holland was a graduate of Cairo High School. She had been a bookkeeper with Edison Electric Co. She was a member of First Christian Church, Cairo Junior Women's Club and Cairo Historical Association.

Survivors include a son, John Holland Jr. of Cairo; four grandsons; and a great-grandson.

Visitation and the funeral are private. Burial will be in Wickliffe Cemetery in Wickliffe, Ky.

Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
