Geneva Coombs

Geneva Coombs, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at the Lutheran Home.

She was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Littleton, Ill., daughter of Harrison Monroe and Jessie May Arnold. She and Charles E. Coombs were married June 11, 1950, in Rushville, Ill.

Coombs was a 1945 graduate of Rushville High School. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Galesburg, Ill.

Survivors include two daughters, Charlotte Steiger of Cape Girardeau, Donna Johnson of Macomb, Ill.; a brother, Vern Arnold of South Carolina; three sisters, Molly Jones of Clearwater, Fla., Reba Lovan of Galesburg, Nettie Kordes of Colchester, Ill.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, and a half sister.

There is no visitation.

Private graveside service will be held at Crestlawn Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. The Rev. Daniel Mosley will officiate.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
